The RSPB's annual 'Feed The Birds Day' is approaching - heralding the start of the important winter feeding season.

 Details
Feed The Birds Day is on Saturday October 29th. The point of marking this event is to remind us that garden birds really benefit from a little extra help to get them through the cold winter months. Nowadays we are advised to feed birds in the garden all year - spring and summer feeding gives adults the extra energy they need to breed successfully and gives the fledglings the best chance of survival. But in winter, the energy demands on birds can become extreme when temperatures plummet and fewer daylight hours limit their opportunities to find food. There are predictions that this winter could be one of the coldest for some time, so clean your feeders now and stock up with plenty of food. Give your birds every chance to make it through to next spring.
